PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
MEDICAL SUPPORT SERVICES
Created information infrastructure for interoperability between Epic Health Records and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid National Plan and Provider Enumeration (NPPES) System. Also registered physicians and a medical organization into the NPPES system so that they could be compensated at the end of the revenue cycle. We also ensured that providers were registered on PECOS (Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System). Our team also completed attestations for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
Supervised and trained Nurses, CNAs, PCAs, and medical assistants in documenting vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, height, weight), EKGs, physical assessments, labs (urine toxicology, and blood work), and triage via the phone. Participated in training for incoming fellows on patient electronic records, documentation (physical assessments, radiological reports, medication management, recording labs). We also trained them to provide quality healthcare to the patients. Fellows were also trained on peer-to-peer reviews with external organizations.
IT SOLUTIONS
Collaborated with other team teams to customize Epic Health Records for patients' charts, medication management, lab documentation, medical orders, and physical therapy management. We also ensured that there was interoperability between Epic Health Records and pharmacies around the nation.
PROFESSIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
Trained administrative staff on the use of Epic Health Records, placing ambulatory orders for MRIs, CT Scans, Myelograms, Discograms, Dexa Scans, X-Rays, and lab work. We also trained them on authorization for procedures (epidurals, steroid injections, facet injections, radiofrequency injections, lumbar transforaminal epidural steroid injections), conversing with insurance companies(Aetna, CVS Caremark, OptumRx, Silverscript, Medicare, Medicaid, United Healthcare, Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Emblem Health) and on medication, radiologic, and billing authorization.
